Ryan Carleton

Title: Assistant Coach

Carleton will coach Linebackers this season. Previously, he was the Junior Varsity Head Coach after spending the previous two years as the Freshman Defensive Coordinator. He is in his fourth year coaching at Tokay.

A 2008 graduate of Lodi High, Carleton was a two-sport athlete competing in football and wrestling all four years. He was named First Team All-League in football his senior year and ended a 23-year drought at the school when he qualified for the California state wrestling tournament. Carleton also won a South Section title at 189 pounds. He also won the James Conklin Award as the Most Outstanding Male Athlete his senior year.

 

Following high school, Carleton played at Delta College where he tied for the most tackles in the California Community College Athletic Association with 112. He added 11.5 tackles for loss and 4 sacks while earning All-Conference, All-State and All-Region honors his sophomore year. He is a member of the Delta All Decade team for the years of 2000-2010.

 

He received a full ride to FCS Western Illinois where he started multiple games his senior season and earned the Green Beret Award for his excellence on special teams. Carleton earned a degree in Kinesiology and Exercise Science.

 

He has worked at Athletes Performance working with youth athletes up to professional athletes in Fresno and was previously a youth football coach for the Lodi Junior TItans.

 

Carleton lives in Lodi and works as an 8th grade science teacher at Lodi Middle School. He also owns and operates Carleton Training Systems, a sports performance training business that focuses on youth athletic development.
