Michael Holst enters his seventh season as the Head Coach of the Tokay Football program in 2021. Previously, he was the Varsity Defensive Coordinator for six years and an Assistant Coach for one year for the Tigers. Holst also served the past six years as the Athletic Director at Tokay.
Before joining Tokay's staff, Holst spent a season as the linebackers coach and JV Co-Defensive Coordinator at Kansas Wesleyan University and a summer as a strength & conditioning intern at the University of South Florida. Holst is a Certified Strength & Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) through the National Strength & Conditioning Association and is a member of the American Football Coaches Association.
A 2003 Tokay graduate, Holst played two years of football at Delta College before transferring to KWU, where he was a senior captain and All-Conference selection at linebacker while earning his Bachelor of Arts in Athletic Training. In high school, Holst was an All-league linebacker, senior captain and a recipient of the "Dave Smith Most Inspirational" award on an 8-2 team that went to the playoffs.
Holst is currently a Resource Specialist at Tokay and lives in Lodi with his wife Christine, daughter Sawyer son Lucas and dog Koda.
