STOCKTON — All Cory Glasgow needed was two touches to shape the rest of the game.

Glasgow, a senior tailback on the Tokay football team, had two carries for 115 yards and a touchdown early in the first quarter, acting as an omen for the Tigers’ 58-40 rout of the Chavez Titans on Friday night at Chavez High.

Yes, the Tigers and Titans combined for 47 points in the third quarter alone, and 98 overall, but by halftime Tokay was in control. Chavez coach Michael Chicago bemoaned his team’s rough first quarters on Thursday, and history repeated itself on Friday.

On Tokay’s first play from scrimmage, Glasgow took a pitch that was nearly a broken play, and scooted down the field and around Chavez defenders for a 65-yard touchdown.
