Fleming named TCAL Defensive Lineman of the Year
The TCAL recently released its All-League teams and Senior Zach Fleming was named the Defensive Lineman of the Year.
Fleming recorded a new single-season Tokay record 10 sacks while adding 17.5 tackles for loss, 58 tackles and one forced fumble. Fleming also broke the Tokay career record with 18 sacks.
Senior Cory Glasgow (RB), Senior James McClain (OL) and Sophomore Luke Millan (LB) earned 1st-Team honors. Glasgow rushed for 713 yards and seven touchdowns while averaging 7.7 yards per carry. He also added 10 catches for 166 yards and a touchdown receiving. McClain was a 10-game starter and anchored the offensive line at both guard and tackle. Millan led the TCAL with 82 tackles and added 7.5 tackles for loss, 3.5 sacks, three fumble recoveries and one forced fumble.
Seniors Josh Kirchner (WR), Nick Elliott (DB), Joseph Heryford (WR) and junior Nathan Branco (LB) were named to the 2nd-Team. Kirchner led the Tigers with 29 receptions for 312 yards and one touchdown while adding a rushing touchdown. Elliott had 52 tackles, one tackle for loss, one interception and one fumble recovery while leading the Tigers with five receiving touchdowns. Heryford, despite being limited to only two league games due to injury, had 19 catches for 429 yards and four touchdowns. Branco was second on the team with 63 tackles and had 7.5 tackles for loss, one sack, two forced fumbles and two fumble recoveries.
Senior defensive lineman Raymond Hernandez and Tommy Picinich as well as senior kicker Diego Ramirez, senior quarterback Daniel Garlick and junior defensive lineman Dillon Schmidt earned Honorable Mention status.
