Turnovers keep Tigers winless

The Tokay High football team fell to 0-2 in the Tri-City Athletic League and 0-7 overall on Friday, as West posted a 55-28 win over the Tigers in Tracy on Friday.

In the first quarter, the Tigers jumped out to a 6-0 le\ad to conclude a 35-yard, seven play drive when quarterback Jacob Varney scored on a 6-yard run. The Tigers’ first touchdown was courtesy of a West fumble.

But West (1-1 in the TCAL, 3-4) took the lead when Elijah McKnight scored on a 75-yard kickoff return. The Wolf Pack upped their lead to 13-6, thanks to a Tokay interception, when Simeon Sims threw a touchdown pass to Ethan Casados. The extra-point was missed.
