Last week, the Sac-Joaquin Section, the governing body for high school sports that oversees nearly 200 schools, released its Academic Team Champions for the fall season.
The Tigers football program was fifth in the section with a 3.18 grade point average. Lists are compiled using unweighted grades (4.0 scale with no AP courses counted) from the first grading period of the 2018 school year.
There were 19 Tiger football players who had a 3.0 GPA or higher, and three who were 4.0 and above.
